UFO Hit List 1 of 12: Chunky Cowl

Why was this a UFO?

About a year ago, I bought myself a ball of Paton’s Fab Big in a beautiful deep purple. There’s a knitting pattern on the label, which claims to use 1 ball to make a chunky scarf so I also bought some knitting needles and started to knit. I soon came to realise  that I wasn’t going to be able to follow the instructions so I gave up and decided to make a crochet scarf or cowl. I was away from home without internet access at the time so I made up a pattern. Unfortunately the one ball only got me half the way, and although I bought another ball last winter, I just didn’t get around to finishing it, and this morning, I still had about a foot of scarf that looked like this:

Ta-Dah!

It only took about 2 hours total to finish, as the yarn is a super chunky weight and there’s not many stitches per row.

I’m really happy with it, and I think I’ll be wearing it like this:

Although I could also wear it like this:

Looking snuggly!

I will be using this stitch pattern again:
